Up early to finish looking at the ruins near the village. No other people there! It was very interesting, a beautifully restored odeum, a bronze age burial site, 4000 year old walls, a temple with olives growing in and around it, some pathways still intact. Cows and their dogs watching us nonchalantly.
We bought some veggies and fruit from a villager and headed back to the boat- time to go!
We were told by a Turkish yacht that we definitely had to go to Turk Buku, said it was the most beautiful coast in Turkey but when we slowly chugged past we were horrified to see hoards of large, expensive power boats and yachts crammed in together on rented moorings, no space to anchor and jet skiers whirling around maniacally! Rob went pale and quiet and turned the boat and fled. Half an hour later we ended up in a calm narrow cove with a quieter lot of people just there to swim. A group of turkish boys were perched on a rock, and one of them swam up to Rob to talk to him. Big Sabine: 'Ahh… The first thing they do. They get friendly with the father, then they steal the daughter away…' They all cleared off by sunset and we had the place to ourselves! We swam and played ball with Big Sabine. Went to sleep with the sound of howling dogs, or were they wolves???
