So now we are really somewhere special!! Another day of mostly motoring, just one hour with motor off.... but we have arrived at Ponza in the Pontine Islands. It is really something special. More photos to follow, we'll stay here for a few days rest. (and until Sabine does more than a mere 2!!! quadratic equations. Might be good enough for THS, but hoping to set a higher standard here!)

ehi guys you are in one of the most beautiful islands in the Tirreno Sea (not the Mediterranean. Aren't you lucky???
Then you will reach the Eolie islands down near Sicily, another paradise but i am afraid full of crazy Italians with dogs!!!
    ciao e buone vacanze

  2. Hi Rob Annie and Sabine,Thanks for the post card and blog site.Mum and I have just looked at all of your (recorded)adventures so far.Ellida looks beautiful,&is sailing well up to my expectations. She will probably start to exceed her calculated displacement hull speed at between 16-20 knots of wind, and if like Norla, can double it free sheeting in 30knots.
You will be amazed when you get a decent breeze at how she will power up.It'll make motoring seem like a snail's pace.
Pity about the crowded harbours, but many are the same all over the northern hemisphere.
The fishing looks promising, but not to compare with the deep sea stuff, that you are used to!
We are having a spell of amazing fine weather this week mostly northerly winds, and clear sunny days.

  3. Frankie would like to know if there are mermaids in those caves? we have just googled her question of the week... "are mermaids real?" and seen some lovely paintings of nude sirens trying to lure Ulysses to shipwreck. Frankie was very dissapointed by their outfits. she thought mermaids have better dress sense...
