Limnos

A great passage from Koufos to Limnos, left at 5am, anchored before 5pm. Saw a lot of fish smashing up the surface, and had striped dolphins visit again. One of them looked up to make sure we were watching, then went down and swam upside down to the surface and did three clear jumps upside down! We even got to turn the motor off for a while, we're getting to where we should be able to sail most of the time, the prevailing winds will be taking us homewards.

  1. Hi there Ellida1:I had found the Potidea (Portas) canal a week ago,on the Google Earth map of Chalkidiki, when I was checking your potential route to Thessaloniki. The arial map showed both the narrowness of the deepest Channel, Marinas at each end full of motor boats! and photos of the Bridge from canoes, and stranded vessels. So I am relieved that you were able to negotiate it without too much drama.Fortunate to have your friend along for encouragement too.Apart from the low bridge, the rest is easy compared with ours to the Marion Narrows on the way to Dunally!
Rob I am sure you are happy to now have those repairs completed finally, and fresh supplies of water and gas.
